how i almost became a millionaire

In 2018 I was offered equity in a company that is now worth millions of dollars today, but I turned it down.

The reason?

Matthew 16:26 (NKJV)

²⁶For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?

I learned a very powerful lesson there.

There is nothing in the Bible that tells us to prioritize wealth or to seek it first. If your goal is to make money, then your goal should be to not make money.

Money is a paradox. The more you pursue it, the more it evades you.

It’s very similar to this teaching by Jesus about life.

John 12:25 (NKJV)

²⁵He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life.

Ecclesiastes 5 is a great chapter to read about building wealth, and I will teach it soon.
